Crash and Error under Windows XP

I have several applications that work without fault on 9X, NT4 and 2000 but we just started testing them on XP and have found some strange problems in 2 of our applications.

1. I get the standard application has created errors and has been shutdown. (One app gets this on start, the other on close)

2. I sometimes get the "capability not supported" message.

I plan on upgrading my dev box to XP in the hope the debuger will shed some light on the issue but I was wondering if anyone else has encountered problems with thier apps on XP and could provide some tips.

I am currently using Delphi 5.

My apps worked fine in XP for the most part without having to do any changes. Generally XP is quite similar to 2k. If you app runs fine in 2k, it *should* basically also run fine in XP. Strange, if it does not.

Perhaps this one helps a bit, it's free for non-commercial usage (only):

I found out that "capability not supported" is a BDE error. I had 5.11 installed on the system and upgraded it to 5.2 works fine now.  Very strange because other apps didn't have a problem
