How dou you detect browser capabilities?

Hi i'm kind of new at this i'd like some code(VBSCRIPT,preferred) to detect what a client has, i.e does it support flash and if not redirect it to the flash site.

These sites where all very helpful when I was  writting a sniffer script.

they are javascripts with vb built it.
