When I try to print anything out of Acroba Reader, Little boxes print where letters should.  I am using XP, and latest free version of acrobat reader.  I have tried downloading all of the fixes from acrobat and from hp (printer) and windows.  Nothing works.

It's a font issue. Try installing the font it calls for.

Hi.
Are you making sure that the printer is configured for postscript - if so which level postscript are you printing?  try level 2.

If the above fail, try setting the print options in Acrobat to "Print As Image" or something similar, I've not checked recently, but that was how I managed to get around the problem a few years back. You will probably notice spooling lengthens, but with the speed of machines and USB these days, it's not noticable.
