I've manually uninstalled my Oracle Database from my Win2000 workstation. However, the Oracle Database service name still exists in the services list. How I can remove it from the list ?

You have two alternatives:

1. You do have the MS Ressource Kit, in which case, you just have to use a graphical tool named srvinstw.exe or a command line one named instsrv.exe

2. You do not have it. The solution is then to delete manually the keys associated to this service in the registry:

2a. Launch regedit.exe
2b. Locate your service definitions in _LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
2c. Delete the key associated to the service you want to remove.

Ex: You want to remove the service named OracleServiceORCL, you just have to delete the registry key named HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\OracleServiceORCL

2d. Save your registry.

Note that if you are not familiar with registry, you'd be inspired to save it, before editing it.

Easy, no ?
