MSXML2.6 updates won't stop coming...

It has windows xp home version on it. Lately I have been receiving the same automatic updates over and over...

Update dated 2/13/02 MSXML2.6 and 2/13/02 MSXML 3.0 security issues.

I have updated it several times now.

Why would it keep repeating?

Is this something I need to be concerned about?

How do I correct this?

I did try to contact Microsoft online but had trouble a simple email contact to ask the question.

Try the following....
Open Internet Explore:
1.Tools -> Windows Update -> Click on "Scan For Updates"

This will check your computer for Updates, it will show all the criticall updates you need to do.

2.Click on "Review and install updates"

This should fix the problem

I had a similar problem once with a different service pack. It was something to do with a corrupt tempopary file. It was fixed by renaming the C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot2 folder. This may however not be the same problem.

I suggest that you click on the View Installation History at http://www.windowsupdate.com to see any error information related to the problematic item.

Then check out http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/ which contains a list of several problems and fixes for them

Hope this helps,
