Outlook Server Time out

How can I increase the server timeout settings to larger than the max allowed ( 5 minutes )in MS OUTLOOK..? Any third party utility or can anybody help me..?. Can't do anything at Server side, I want to do something in Outlook, I already put the timeout setting to maximum, that is 5 minutes, but, it is not enough for me, While downloading mails which is larger than 1 Mb or like that, Well, I am not able to.. Waiting for Expert people's help..

the timeout setting has nothing to do with current transfer.  if you are getting a server disconnect and are unable to download large messages, I would look else where for the problem.

For example, I know of many people that have broadband (dsl, cable modem) internet access that are behind a linksys router/hub that can't download large messages.  In each case, reducing the MTU setting will allow data to travel smoothly. (Most end up with a MTU setting of 1400 for cable/dsl while dial-up users might have to set an MTU of 512.)


ps - linksys hubs/routers are notorius for corrupting data flow as well.
