not to sure for why the scanner can't start but if all you are hoping to do is stop the message from popping up you could disable it by opening Norton AV and clicking on &quot;options&quot; &quot;instant messenger&quot; and making sure that none of the three boxes at the top referring to IM programs are checked. This will of course mean that your messages won't be scanned but maybe you're not using a instant messenger service anyways? &nbsp;

Dear Junk your're right but it will repair with uninstalling yahoo messenger and installing it again.<br />
