SuSE Linux - How to Implement Raid 0+1

We have a DL380 server with 6*36GB disks and 5i RAID controller. Planning to install SLES 8.0. Can I have some tips to implement RAID 0+1.
Thanks

What kind of "tips" are you looking for?

RAID 0+1 is supported on the SmartArray 5i.  You can configure this using ACU (Array Configuration Utility) outside of any operating system.  Just boot the server from either the SmartStart or the SmartArray CDROM and double-click on the ACU option.

You may also be able to configure the arrays using the ROM-based configuration utility, but I find ACU easier to manage.

Documentation on configuring the SmartArray 5i is available from:

  ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/techpubs/user_reference_guides/266328-001_rev1_us.pdf

You will also need the latest driver for SuSE Linux.  Try looking here:

Cheers!

1. The controller document talks about only about usage of software and not in the environment of Linux. Like, whether to invoke the ACU after the OS install or before install.
2.The Linux driver is for SLES 7 and not for SLES 8.

The answer provided is not adequate for someone who wants to enable RAID 0+1 in a SuSE Linux Environment.

Thanks
