IIS + ASP .NET: Problems to print to LPT1

Hi there!

We have a problem to print to LPT1 from ASP.NET.
When we browse to http://localhost it works fine, but if we use http://127.0.0.1 we get an invalide filehandle.
We use integrated windows-authentication.

What is the difference between localhost and 127.0.0.1??

thanx very much!

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try adding http://127.0.0.1 to trusted sites in the security tab of IE.

thanx for the comment!
we have found the problem:
we want to print from an ASP.NET-Application on the web-server to a printer on our printserver.
the mapping with 'net use' is user-specific. So it does not work. also printing over the network-share '\\printserver\printername' does not work, because the .NET-Application runs as local system user (I suppose). Also, if you try 'integrated windows authentification'.
Because we are in a domain and in our network (intranet), we tried the default authentification and it works.

that's it.
have fun!
