Hi there,

I am running an OpenGL application when all of a sudden it hangs.
When I try to view the process information using pstack I hang. In most cases even doing "ls /proc" will hang.
ps will also hang and so would top.

Has anyone encountered something like that? Any ideas what may be causing that and (assuming it is a Solaris bug) is there an OS patch for that?

TIA,
aliza.

Download the Solaris 8 OpenGL patch from SunSolve:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/private-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=fpatches%2F109543&zone_32=Solaris%208%20OpenGL

Please read the README file first to see if any other patch required for your platform.

Check the latest patch report to see if any other new patch
for OpenGL

And also have a look at Sun OpenGL FAQ:

Hi there,

I have not seen any indication at the urls suggested that shown any relevance to the /proc pb.
Is there anything I'm missing here?

Thanks.

If you are sure that the problem is caused by OpenGL, you need to apply all the OpenGL patch, then try again.

Aliza, Can you tell me what the OpenGL application is that you're trying to run?
