Apache + Freebsd + ActiveX

I don't really know much about M$ stuffs, but now one of our partners is asking us to run some of their "activeX" components on our website.

Right now our website is powered by a freebsd 4.5 box running on Apache 1.3.27. Our website is written in php with mysql as the db, if that's relevant at all.

Now how do I go about doing that? At the moment they're telling me that they need to "run some dll", and I have no idea how on earth I could do that. If any of you have any prior experience on this (not necessary freebsd, anything *nix running activex be nice), please help.

ActiveX components are objects (like Java Beans) packed into dynamic link libraries, and as a consequence are a pure Microsoft thing. They use the Microsoft Windows API and database access (usually over ADO, sometimes via OLEDB) You'll basically need a third party tool to support ActiveX controls on Linux. So it's more or less impossible then...

I came across that link via google too, it's from more than 2 years ago, i was hoping that something has been developed since then.

Keeping this open for a few days if no1 else can provide a better ans then I'll award pts to BigRat. Thanks.
