Hello,

does anybody know a good manual how to setup a vpn-server with SuSE Linux 7.3?

The server has a adsl dial-up connection.

Maybe someone has a good HowTo or something else.

Thanks

Christian

Are you planning on using OpenVPN (http://openvpn.sourceforge.net/, with a HOWTO at http://openvpn.sourceforge.net/howto.html) or are you aming at IPSEC with FreeS/WAN (http://www.freeswan.org/)?

LDP is a great resource LamerSmurf, but the VPN mini-HOWTO unfortunately isn't that good. See this snippet from it:

There are many ways to setup a VPN

If you want to use a Microsoft client, you should look
at PopTop.org (pptp implementation)

If you are looking for IPSec for linux-to-linux look at
FreeS/WAN (freeswan.org), there is also a patch to use
a freeswan linux server to connect to a win2k or winxp
client, take a look at http://vpn.ebootis.de/

Again, it depends on what technology/clients you are planning
to use, once you decide, you can ask more specefic questions.

There's also CIPE; and, depending on your needs you may be able to use a simple SSH tunnel.

Ok,

so I'm first planning, later I'll ask more, if I need some input.

Thanks
