DJ CD-Mixers vs. PC CD-ROM drives

My question is mainly about the Jog dial on DJ CD-Mixers, which allows you, the Disc Jockey, to freely move a cue point of an audio track by speeding up or even reversing the playback of the CD.  I was wondering if this concept was possible with CD-ROM drives, either in the form of software, or hardware addon.

i'm pretty certain that you're not going to be able to do the same things on a pc that you can with dj cd dex. escpecially with normal cd-roms. there may be a special drive out there that can do what you want to do, but i seriously doubt it. i definitely see a market for it, so it might be something coming down the pipe.

in the meantime, check this out:

it's not same, but it's pretty cool.
