I'm just looking for some basic details on the lifespan of a DDS3 DAT tape used for backups. Each tape is used once every three weeks and takes about 16gb compressed storage. What is the average lifespan for one of these tapes?

also the drive being used is a HP SureStore DAT8 drive. what is the average lifespan of one of these tapes?
