I'm using Word as my email editor for MS Outlook 2000, and whenever i create a signature and save it, the next time i start outlook, the signature is gone.  It's got a volatille nature, the signature is there only after i create it until i close outlook.  anybody got a clue why this is happening?

The Nomal.dot file is there and it's not readonly, whenever i save a new signature it doesn't prompt me to save the new Normal.dot file, is it using another template? and if so, how do i find out?

You could do a search for *.dot and see what pops up.  Rename all of them (.??? - your initials maybe) and then restart Word.  Create the signature again and save it.  Exit Word and search for *.dot again and what is found will be the DOT file that is being used.  You should then rename those that are now .??? to .dot again just in case they are used by some other program.
