Lotus Notes Attachments

I've installed Lotus Notes two weeks ago and I have a problem with attachments received from Outlook:

sometimes the attached file appears as text in the body of the e-mail.

I've noticed that I can copy-paste this text in a new file with the extension I know the original (i.e. *.pps) file had and then I can open the attachment!!!.

  I'm using R5 5.0.9 and upgraded to 5.0.10.

  Thank you for your help.

Outlook uses an option "use Microsoft Rich Text"  to send the msgs, which is not supported for lotus notes. Ask the outlook user to turn it off. So that the msg is complaince with internet standards.

The first response is correct.  Have your sender open your name in their personal address book and then double click on your e-mail address and remove the check box that is set to have mail sent as a Microsoft Rich Text format.  If they are on a corporate system they can also ask their admin to have this removed from their exchange server.

Thanks for your help, but it's very difficult for me to tell my sender(s) that they must change their options.

There isn't any solution in Lotus?? Is Lotus so inefficient??, What a dissapoint!!
It is Microsoft, which never wants to adhere to standards.

So don't get dissapointed so easily on Notes. If it was some other mail client other that Microsoft, you will endup in the same situation.
