right now my network has one domain that has 2 sites NYC and MIAMI we are using external IP on our Domain Controllers for replication is there a way of having this setup with NAT (how do I replicate both sites?)

if you're going to have the DCs replicating over the internet, you're going to need an external IP. the only ways i see of getting around having are

1) a private WAN link.
2) putting everything behind routers, and implementing NAT, which you probably already have done.

let me know what else you need to know, or if i've answered your question.

what you are asking for is essentially what companies pay constultants lots of $$$ to do. the details are many, and i already have a full-time job. =) read this article from microsoft that talks about ad replication over a firewall.

http://www.microsoft.com/serviceproviders/columns/config_ipsec_P63623.asp

you're going to have to establish private subnets on both networks, if you haven't already. and you're going to have to configure your firewall/router with static routes, and as the article discusses, you'll have to map specific ports, as well.

in addition to all of this, you're going to have to configure ad sites and services to work with your new approach.

there is a lot of stuff involved, here, as i mentioned. and i'm not sure how much you know, and what exactly, you have in-place already.

i want to help you as much as i can, but i also have to do my job here.

read thru the article, and come back with questions. be very specific, and give many details. if you do that, i will do my best to help you achieve your goal.

take care.
