Cisco 3500 XL Catalyst switch IOS

I have just come into possession of a 24 port Cisco 3500 XL Catalyst switch. I read somewhere that Cisco was no longer supporting this switch. I was wondering if anyone new what IOS was last recomended for this unit, and how I might get hold of it? I do have an old ftp access account that still allows me to access ftp.cisco.com. I just don't know what IOS to download and install. The present IOS on the switch is "Version 11.2(8.1)SA6, MAINTENANCE INTERIM SOFTWARE Enterprise Edition". Any help would be appreciated.

It's not being sold any more, but it will be supported for several more years. There is a limited lifetime warranty on the switch.

Latest IOS version 12.0(5)WC6

That would be the c2900xl-c3h2l9s-mz.120-5.WC6.bin
It would appear to be an upgrade for the Cisco 2900 XL.
Are you sure this is the correct upgrade?

Thank you, I have managed to download, c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC5a.bin and the c3500xl-c3h2s-tar.120-5.WC5a.tar.
But I now seem to be having some trouble TFtp'ing them to my switch. I have tried a number of Free TFTp servers that I downloaded from download.com but they just don't seem to work. I used to have the TFTp software that Cisco gave away, but now seem to of lost it. Have you any idea how I might aquire it again? I remeber one of the Cisco support techs giving me a copy for free just over a year ago when I was upgrading a new Cisco 2950 switch that a friend of mine had just purchased. But unfortunately I now seem to of lost that software.

IMHO, the Cisco tftp server is foobar. The best one I've found is pumpkin from http://www.klever.net
Or Solar Winds: http://www.solarwinds.net

Couple of good links for you:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/473/corrupt_or_missing_image.html
http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/473/10.html

You might have to erase the old version first so that you will have room to add the new version.

I did erase the old version first! Atleast I thought I did!

I did erase the original, or atleast I though I did. The links that you suppplied required my to log in, the pages would not accept the username/password that I used to download the flash image.
