asked on
maxuprc, nproc and maxusers
I have an Oracle 9.0.1 database in a unix 4.3 server.
The database had a ORA-12500 error. Looking on support pages there is a mention to look for the numbers of the maxuprc, maxuses and nproc.
There is no /etc/system file.
Where should I look to find those numbers?

Yong, when you don't have a tracing on what you see on the listner.log is not meaningful at all.
What about my question... Where can I find the numbers of maxuprd, maxusers and netproc?

Ok, I found it, you have to execute the following command:
lsattr -E -l sys0
Compare this to your init.ora process parameter.
Thank you, Me!!!!!!

it seem a kernel problem being to be recompiled with new parameters maxuprc, maxuses and nproc.
take a look at kernel parameters;
often to read active kernel parameters you can use the sysdef command.

LindaC,
What flavour of UNIX do you use? Solaris, HP-UX, AIX?
(1) For Solaris, edit /etc/system, and reboot mechine.
(2) For HP-UX, use (root) $ sam
(3) For AIX, use (root) $ smit
Does it help?
