Veritas Remote Agent Install problem
I have 2 NAS Server's, Dell's 715 & 725 and am trying to install Remote Agents for Veritas ver 9 but I am getting a 'Timeout semphore'. Can anyone help please?
is the connection link okay, this may be occuring due to network timeout..

It seems ok, as hey are on the network and being accessed all the time.

For 20 points...I will point you in the direction in which you should go. Check to see if there are software patches that need to be applied, OS compatability etc. Here is a link that you can search. I performed a search on "install Remote Agents" and I got a complete step by step on how to install and compatablity.....

Veritas also had some problems installing if Windows was utilizing the /3gb or /pae switches. I don't know if those NAS are utilizing Windows like the SAN we us does or not--something to look at.

Although they refer to the PowerVault 755, I did see other references to the 725 saying similar things.
It appears that the OS on these is detected by BE as being Advanced server (I know in reality its not), and not licenced for the version you have.
Admitedly, this info applies to BE 8.5/8.6 but I'm not aware of Veritas making any major licensing policy changes in you favour.

First of all... replace network cable.
Check event logs for network related issues. Could possibly be hardware conflicts. (Personal experience with SCSI.)
