Uncompressed .avi

I've got an uncompressed .avi and the properties of this file looks like this:

Width: 352 pixels
Height: 288 pixels

Duration: 0:52:59

Frame rate: 4 frames/second
Date rate: 49kbps
Video sample size: 1 bit
Video compression: Uncompressed

Whenever I access this .avi with Windows Media Player, all I see is a blank screen with no audio. I'm currently using Windows XP Pro and Windows Media Player 9.0. I've looked through different search engines, but couldn't find any answer to this problem. What I'm looking for, is mostly an easy to use program that can compress this .avi into a viewable .avi. Thanks in advance.

you don't really need a compress or decompress program to view this avi.

you might need the latest codec since that avi may be in DIVX format,

get this:

I m pretty sure you would able to see the avi with sound

try to do the windows updates too

It's an uncompressed avi.  I don't think this has anything to do with codecs, so installing the Divx codec wouldn't help.  If anything, try running mplayer2.exe (From Command Prompt or from Run...) and opening the avi with it first.  If you can have a program such as virtualdub process the video file, chances are there's some way for you to play it without adding anything to the system.  What would make life easier is for you to post the file somewhere for us to download, or email it to us.  I can tell you exactly how to get the file to play if I can examine the file.
