If you have a voice modem, then it will probably have a pair of audio jacks on the back of it. If it doesn't then it may have a couple of sets of pins on the card in your PC. All you need to do is connect up the audio input from your soundcard to the audio output of the modem, and the line-level audio output from your soundcard to the input of your modem. Suitable cables would be 3.5mm mono jack-to-jack, and you'd need two- length depends on whether your modem is internal or external. If you make use of the sets of pins inside your PC rather than making the connection externally then CD-Audio cables should do the job, depending on the pin layout. You may also need to check settings in your windows mixer to make sure the correct inputs and outputs are visible and unmuted. Hope this helps.

Yes, you can do this using VB, but as far as I know you have to play the WAV using the sound card through the cables I suggested. It isn't hard to get VB to play sounds to any windows audio device- I'll look up  a sample. I guess the one exception might be if your voice modem installed itself as a sound playback device in that section of control panel, then you could switch your program to output sounds to the modem direct, and have control of the modem through the com port. Of course I am talking totally theoretically. Out of interest, what is your application?

My Application is a IP Telephony for making Local calls and STD calls through Modem. If you can found related things on net or some where else, please mail it to me at srini_personal@hotmail.com. And for your comment, I accept it as the answer I want. But I am not fully satisfied. If you can help in the practical way. I will be very much thankful to you.

THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!
