I just want to uninstall Oracle8i EE from XP pro.
But can't install & run Oracle8i again on my machine.
Please help me out what should I do, I have done these things already:
1. Delete Oracle from regedt
2. Uninstall Oracle from Universal Installer.
3. Delete every folder related to Oracle.

I have tried everythng whtever U people told.
Delete from Programs folder.
Delete Oracle folder.
Delete Services from regedt32
Delete from S/W folder of regedt32 too
Delete from s/w folder of regedt.

When I tried to install again (first deinstall).
It cannot configure the Net8, & cannot create the db.
But server manager can be started.
But no admin & oradata folder created.
Thanks

Fouaddba,

Is there an error message when trying to create database or Net8 (like: 'Cannot find log file',or stg like this?)

Can you start your Net8 assistant?
Can you start your Enterprise manager?

After deinstallation, take a look at your services: is there any "%Oracle%" services? (If yes, check your registry folders to remove ALL services in the different sets: maybe 2, maybe 3...). After this, reboot first your computer before starting your installation again! This is called: "Windows Clean-Up" ;D

Note: Let's get rid of Microsoft. Try Oracle on Linux (cheaper, faster and safer!)

Regards,
Ix.

You may also have to remove any old installation log files. For some reason, Oracle installer looks at them to determine if there are any products already installed. This some times prevents you from reinstalling the software though you have removed the files manually.
