SUMMARY
You may want to run Outlook in a minimized state so that the program icon appears next to the clock on the taskbar. You may want to do this so that you can receive notifications of new mail and reminders without having an Outlook button available on the taskbar.
MORE INFORMATION
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Outlook is not designed to run in a minimized state with the program icon on the taskbar. However, you can minimize Outlook so that a button appears on the taskbar. You can then click the button to maximize the program window.

To configure Outlook to run in a minimized state:
Quit Outlook if it is running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then select the appropriate registry key for your version of Outlook.
Outlook 2002

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Preferences

Outlook 2000

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Preferences

Click the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD value.
Type the following name for the new value:

MinToTray

Press the ENTER key.
Right-click the MinToTray registry key, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 1.
Click OK.
Quit Registry Editor.

I don't believe it is worth "reinventing the wheel" when there is already a way to accomplish this using third-party tools.  I have never tried it myself.

Suppose if i want to build a small plugin, this will detect a new mail if  it comes and sends a reply automatically.
I think for this MAPI is useful.
Any suggections...

Thank you.
