The easiest way is to use content tables for the layout.

Here's some code to provide an 760 pixel wide centred content area into which you can add your site content.

<html>
<head>
<title>Centred Table for layout purposes...</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
</head>

<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000" link="#000000" vlink="#000000" alink="#000000" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0">
<table width="100%" height="100%"  border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
          <td width="100%" height="100%" align="center" valign="top">
               <table width="760" height="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
                    <tr>
                         <td width="760" height="100%" align="center" valign="top">content goes here...use tables for layout...just use tables with width=100% to start...<br>
                              <br>
Don't put anything outside this table cell ( &lt;td&gt; )...</td>
                    </tr>
               </table>
          </td>
     </tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>

no.  That is what dreamweaver is doing behind the sceen is generating the HTML, so the only way to fix your problem is with HTML.

Well if you donot want to actually code , you can definitely do it with Dreamweaver. What you can do is create a table with 100% height & 100 % width , and place all your content within this table. Inside the table, do remeber to set Horizontal & vertical alignment to center & middle respectively, and you will have something very close ot what you desire. You might also need to set page margins to 0 for all the sides

devarioj, you can set a color for the whole page as gray (as in www.download.com ), and inside the table , you can inset any more amout of tables, text, images et. to suit your needs

ok guys, im sorry for bothering you so much, it's just I cant get this to work and it is so frustrating.

I know how to make the background of the page to be a specific color, but how can I change the color of the background inside of a table ONLY and not effect the background of the page.  i.e  have the background of the page as grey and the background of the table to be yellow...
Thanks...and I will give points to whoever gets this....

CLICK on the table (inside the table anywhere), and in the properties tag , choose a bg color. Thats it...
