Any IMAIL Experts out there?

I keep getting an error while trying to download mail from an imail server. I've patched, upgraded. I've checked the DNS, everything is fine. I can send mail to it, I can get to the mail in the web messaging service but all outlook or eudora do is: "Downloading 1 of 8 messages..." for about 2 minutes and then it spits out this error:

"The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator."

I've used Imail before with little problems, but on this server, well 2 totally different servers now, it wont work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this something you do from one particular PC, or are several cients experiencing problems? The first thing I come to think about is a misconfigured firewall somewhere (web interface port 80; POP3 port 110).

YOu could try a really good e-mail client, Pegasus (www.pmail.com) that is strictly standards-compliant.

You could also try telnet into the server, see if you can get the communication to run OK.

You could run a packet sniffer (I think ethereal is available for windows platform, too) and see if you can pinpoint the problem (if this is a network you are allowed to do such things on).

Ah... well, thanks for the points, but did I help you? Did you discover the actual problem?
