Hi, I'm using crystal 9.

When I convert a datetime field to date, it shows up correctly on my machine, however, on other machines, the time field also shows.

Anyone know why?

From the crystal website:

"Synopsis

DateTime fields formatted in Crystal Reports as date only return both the date and time when run in a Visual Basic application using the Report Designer Component (RDC).

When previewed in the Crystal Reports Designer, only the date is returned, as expected.

Solution

This issue occurs because the time portion of the DateTime field is being added by default in the RDC.

This is a known issue with Crystal Reports (CR) version 9.0 and has been tracked. The Track/Problem ID is: ADAPT00135471."

The hotfix is available from here:
ftp://ftp.crystaldecisions.com/outgoing/EHF/CR90DEVWIN_EN.ZIP

Now to see if it works!

Excellent.  Haven't seen the problem myself in CR8

I think it only occurs in CR9.

Unfortunately, my experiences with this version is more often than not 'one step forward and two steps back'.

The hotfix worked by the way.

I'll give the points to you (all 50 of them! :)) mlmcc as I'm not sure what is supposed to happen when you answer the question yourself.

thanks

Thanks.  For future reference you can submit a request in the Community Support forum to PAQ or delete the question.

I haven't had the opportunity to use CR9 but from the frustration I have seen through questions on this site I am not sure I want to upgrade.
