i just finished my common desktop environment setup and i dont have any idea how to start intalling NIC on my solaris 8 intel...

ive been in linux and i want to study solaris im really new to this...

1. check if your NIC is on the Solaris 8 (Intel) hardware support list.

2. If the NIC on the list (if not on the list, just try your luck)

    1) Install the NIC to your PC
    2) Power up the PC, when your see the following message on the screen:
    Enter to "boot interpreter" :
Select (b)oot or (i)nterpreter:i
Entering boot interpreter - type ctl-d to resume boot
    type in:
    b -r

     then just following the screen instruction to specify the correct hardware on your system.

    This should get your NIC going.
