Links on a GIf

I have created a banner in Flash and exported it as a gif file but the link does not work.  What am i missing here?  
I little help would go a long way.

I assume you are putting the image on an HTML page, just create a link out of the image, as you probably cant embed a hyperlink in the GIF.


ex:

<a href=gotoThisPage.html><img src=myGIF.gif></a>

I would suggest multiplying the square root of infinity, and cross-Flashify the remainder to make the link work properly in all platform compatible browser simulations....

or just use style's solution...

exporting as gif is just a snapshot of what is sitting
on the stage in any particular frame..or sequence of frames.
to read any functionality..like links or other actionScript..flash player is needed..so export your banner as a swf and your link will work.

I think it would be more wise to just put a link on the gif image, because a plugin is not needed...
