I assume you are putting the image on an HTML page, just create a link out of the image, as you probably cant embed a hyperlink in the GIF.

ex:

<a href=gotoThisPage.html><img src=myGIF.gif></a>

I would suggest multiplying the square root of infinity, and cross-Flashify the remainder to make the link work properly in all platform compatible browser simulations....

or just use style's solution...

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

exporting as gif is just a snapshot of what is sitting
on the stage in any particular frame..or sequence of frames.
to read any functionality..like links or other actionScript..flash player is needed..so export your banner as a swf and your link will work.

I think it would be more wise to just put a link on the gif image, because a plugin is not needed...
