Notes archiving advice...

I would appreciate any input on alternative archiving solutions with Notes/Domino R5, third party or native.  I've looked around and come across a few things but nothing that jumps out at me.  R6 is not an option currently.

Until recently method was Server based mail file and local C: drive based Archive.  Now have W2K locked down systems so Archives have (temporarily) been used from network home drives but that uses up the users' file-share disc quota we have set and leads to corruption & extra network traffic ...

A quick solution is obviously to put the archives onto additional storage on the Domino boxes and access throught the domino server but if a third party util I would presumably be able to control blanket archiving paramaters centrally.

Are there are HSM type products which support Domino mail files while still leaving user access to the archived mail.

At other companies using Notes I have tended to see either:

Huge mailboxes, no archives, evryone must keep everything, happy users!
Small mailboxes, big archives, fairly happy users, data gets mislaid...
Small mailboxes, no archives, unhappy users, lots of "must delete mail" emails.

Aside from the politics of archiving a users' mail from under them... any good URL's, articles, personal experience, or other information on this appreciated...

thanks

ASKER

Thanks both for links, will look through them tomorrow and see if anything helps -- OS is W2K, Server version is R5 as mentioned above (5.0.11 specifically) and clients currently running 5.09, mixture of English & Japanese clients.

Anyone got any personal experience of using any of these (or other) products or better ways of configuring the native archiving?

thanks

Apologies for the long delay in closing this Q, lot of things going on right now so EE is taking back burner all round...

Priorities have changed for a while (don't they always...) but the Re-Soft Mail Archiver product (which I hadn't heard of before) sounds most like what we were after before so points for HemanthaKumar, thanks SysExpert too...

Shame no-one had any personal experiences of these though.
