Question about NG

Hi Guys,
Does Checkpoint NG support fwxlconf? Or do I only have the option of using the GUI to configure NAT? Thanks in Advance

Yes it does .. but remeber to use NG FP3 cause FP2 has some nasty NAT bugs. In some occations FP2 does not go through the NAT list from rule 1 .. 10 but from the first added rule to the last. Like ..

I add 5 NAT rules with number 1 to 5
Then I delete rule 2 and insert a new rule 2
My new rule 2 will still be treated last ..

That's a nasty bug .. use FP3 ..

And .. if you use 4.1 now I can say you'll be happy to use NG .. it does automatic ARP and routing when NAT'ing ..

Best Regards,

Magnus

fwxlconf is only used for CP FW-1 <=3.0 , now you only use Motif or Win GUI.

Thanks for the response. fwxlconf is also used in FW-1 4.0 and 4.1, I am using FW-1 4.1 at present. Does NG allow you to NAT a partial network, for example: 192.168.10.1 - 192.168.10.240 behind PUBLIC_IP ? While using 192.168.10.241...etc for STATIC_NATS? Please Advise.
