laptops runnung xp in 2k environment

I have a laptop that is running xp that needs to connect to two different windows 2000 domains. The laptop needs internet access,printer use and access to other shared folders which are different in each domain.  What is the best way to go about this.

join the laptop in win2000 domain.u can access the other
domain by adding the user name to the shared folder.

or join to no domains, and simply supply credentials when you are asked by the DC or resource

ie. username@ad.domain.com
