Frontpage theme

Hi,

I have created a page in front page using theme. My question is how to use this page created with theme. I want to write data into it like setting hyperlinks etc (In the theme I have selected there are some fancy buttons. How do I get them on my page. If I do insert its giving me the normal push button)

Can I write and format the data directly form the "normal" view or I have got to "HTML" view and write the code?
If at all I have to write the HTML code what is the use of front page?

Please comment

The "buttons" created for use in a theme build the navigation buttons, not a Submit button for a form.

The usual method for using themes and these "fancy buttons" is to build a page with shared borders, then add a navigation "bot" to that border, and then use FrontPage's navigation view to build the "tree" that FP uses to build the proper navigational buttons.

If you want to use an image as a forms Submit button, you will have to use an image and then a script to submit the form if the image is clicked.

But the format shared borderd is always. Can you please tell me how to make it active.

Right-click on any page, select "Shared Borders". You can set which borders show on all pages, or just the current page.

I right click on the page or click on format shared border, It is inactive.
Theme, page properties, list properties etcetc, all other properties are active except the shared border.

What to do...
thanks

UKris,

When you get to the Shared Borders dialog box, you can "activate" a border by check the Top, Left, Right, or Bottom check boxes. Be sure to select whether you want the border on all pages, or just the current page.

Once you have a shared border activated, you then have to add a navigation bot to the shared border. Finally, you have to use the Navigation view to build the tree so that the navigation buttons are added.

I think I was not clear in writing my question.

I opened a new page in FP in the Page view. I right clicked on the page. The shared border peoperty is deactivated.  I clicked on the above "Format" tab and there also shared boarder is not activated but all other properties are activated.
SO I am not able to come to shared border dialoge box itself.

Sorry for the misunderstanding...

I had never encountered the problem you are having. I checked TechNet, and all I found was that shared borders are not available if you are editing a FrontPage web on a server that doesn't support FrontPage webs, like a server running FrontPage97 extensions (FP97 did not support shared borders) or a server that doesn't have FrontPage extensions installed.

You should check the server to make sure it supports FrontPage extensions.

Thanks,
But what is the navigation "bot" as told in your first comment?
