Add A Button To Explorer's Toolbar

Hello,
   How can I add a button that launches an application to the WINDOWS 98 explorer's toolbar. And get the parameters of the selected file(s)/folder(s).

Any Idea...

Hi Munim!

uses
  Registry, ComObj;

procedure CreateExplorerButton(const szAppname, szButtonText, szMenuText, szStatusbarText: string; const IsVisible: boolean; const szHotIcon, szIcon: string);
const
  IEExtensions = 'Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\';
  DefVisible : array[boolean]of string = ('No','Yes');
var
  reg : TRegistry;
begin
  reg := TRegistry.Create;
  with reg do
    try
      RootKey := HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE;
      if(OpenKey(IEExtensions + CreateClassId,true)) then
        try
          WriteString('ButtonText',szButtonText);
          WriteString('MenuText',szMenuText);
          WriteString('MenuStatusBar',szStatusbarText);
          WriteString('CLSID','{1FBA04EE-3024-11d2-8F1F-0000F87ABD16}');
          WriteString('Default Visible',DefVisible[IsVisible]);
          WriteString('Exec','"' + szAppname + '"');
          WriteString('HotIcon',szHoticon);
          WriteString('Icon',szIcon);
        finally
          CloseKey;
        end;
    finally
      Free;
    end;
end;

-

procedure TForm1.Button1Click(Sender: TObject);
begin
  CreateExplorerButton(paramstr(0), // application path
    'MyButtontext', // Buttontext
    'MyMenutext', // Text in Menu "Extras"
    'Text in Statusbar', // Text in der Statuszeile
    true, // Button visible?
    ',1', // HotIcon
    ',2'); // Icon
end;

Hi Munim, hi modulo.

Closing this q is alright since my answer didn't solve Munim's problem.
But why do I always get an email when the q is already closed? I didn't get an email 3 days ago. That's about the third time this happens to me.

I can't, because I don't look into old qs everyday without getting an email notification! :/

Hi Markus,

Strange, haven't noticed a "notif breakdown" lately.
Sometimes a spamm filter might intercept a notif...

But glad you can agree :-)

How did I get notified that you closed this q? That's what I am trying to say; I always get notified when it's too late... ;-)
