I have Veritas Backup Exec NT/2000 8.6 loaded on my 2000 server.  I loaded the remote agent on 5 windows 2000 servers on my network in the same domain. The backup exec is working fine with this setup. However when i added another server with a new tape drive (sony TSL-11000) , when I go to the remote selections when i am logged on to the new media server, the servers are greyed out in the backup selections menu and I cannot select it. The selections are normal if I logon to the old media server. Is there something more I need to do?

Yes, the new server is on the same domain. we don't have a server cluster, all the servers are in active directory environment. we have a PDC and BDC. I replicated the changes but it's still the same. I did'nt mention this before, there are couple of other servers that have remote agent installed on them which are not greyed out and also i can see most of the client machines with windows 2000 professional that are not greyed out.

thanks..

I have never dealt with that software, or the tape drive, but is the new drive compatible with the software, are all servers  on the same subnet, or are they allowed to
access them, if a firewall device is in place.....these are the points that i would start looking at...
