Once a HP690C colour-cartridge is empty,
either replace it, or refill it IMMEDIATELY!
If you don't, then the tubes through which the ink flows
will dry-up, and then the cartridge cannot be refilled,
and all you can do is throw it into the garbage.

Yaa It happens, Try to install step by step according to your printer. It has a fesility it gives you instruction how to install. Try step by step.
I hope it will work.
I advise you to 'remove printer' and 'add printer'. I know it works. But before you remove printer , Please make sure that you have the drivers so that it won't be another problem again. If you don't have the drivers, you candownload them from www.driverguide.com
Yes, the colour cartridge is needed for a printer, even if you are taking only black prints.

i cant print even a  test page so what is the problem. drivers are for windows printing.
Disconnect the printer-cable from the printer,
and use the "self-test" to print a "stand-alone" test-page.
Does this work?
