Agent to send mail from browser

I need to write an agent that runs on "web query save" event and sends a mail to another user.

Using Lotusscript send method of a document or @Mailsend command works only in the Notes Client. (The mail database resides on the Domino server and since i need to send mail to the intranet users only at present, i use the CN name of the recepient)

If i use Javascript mailto action and specify an internet email address, it looks for default mail client and displays a message to the user to confirm if the mail  has to be sent or not. I want this agent to run in the background and be transparent to the user.

Please help me with a solution.

"Using Lotusscript send method of a document works only in the Notes Client."

This is not true. You can write a simple LotusScript agent, call it in your WebQuerySave, and it will send a mail. For example:

Set s = New NotesSession
Set db = s.CurrentDatabase
Set doc = New NotesDocument(db)
doc.Form = "Memo"
doc.SendTo = "user@domain.com"
doc.Subject = "This is a test"
Call doc.Send(False)
