creating a link and writing/reading to access db using vb

Hi,

I would like to link my visual basic form to an access database.  I need to firstly set up the connection.  Then I would like to know how to insert values in the fields and then query the database from a VB form. I am constructing a program that will collect info from a serial port and place that info in the database.

I am a novice at both vb and MS access, so actual code would be very helpful.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Kanjir,

Microsoft changed the syntax for ADO DB access with the .NET version, so which version of VB are you using?

In the interm, here is a link to lots of VB stuff, including DB.

By the way, there is a VB specific topic area, and you may want to consider deleting this question and reposting in it.
