Component question again

Every time i try to create a .res or .dcr and load it, as i was told, i get an error "Unsupported 16 bit resource". I tried all
2, 16, 256 etc colors but none worked. Please be more specific about the creating methods of the .dcr,.res files

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

"Unsupported 16 bit resource" has nothing to do with colors.
What is it you want to do ?

For creating DCR use Image Editor. I think a lot of colors doesnt work in Delphi. I think it isnt necessary.

For creating res with more colors you must use the command line brcc32. Make a text file with .rc extension, where you put the res instructions. An example :

MYICON BITMAP MYICON.BMP

Supposed this file named myicon.rc then we use

brcc32 myicon.rc

Its creates myicon.res.
