File busting component

I am looking for a component or code that will allow me to break up a file into 20K blocks(or any size I desire), send them in seperate chunks, and then reassemble the file once it is all there.  I already have the sending part handled, it's just the file breaking down and putting back together that has me road-blocked.  Does anyone know of any good ActiveX component or dll which handles file busting and reassembling?  My method of transfer may drop the connection while sending, so there would have to be a way to pick back up at the most recent block sent.

Well, at first sight, you need to split the file opening in binary mode and save each chunck separatelly in binary too.
After that, you could reasemble it knowing at wich part of the file you were spliting.
something like this:
You have a file of 2048 Bytes

dim ff() as byte

open "c:\myfile.xxx" for binary as #1 len=1024
close #1
open "c:\split1.xxx" for binary as #1
close #1
open "c:\myfile.xxx" for binary as #1
close #1

open "c:\split2.xxx" for binary as #1
close #1
