populating list items from text items in D2k

I have the following problem when working with forms in D2k.  See if anyone could help me out:

I have a data block in my form named ?block1?.  The fields are

-     Emp_code - varchar2 Text item, Emp_name - varchar2 Text item and Pf_number - varchar2 Text item.

Here, Emp_code in block1 is a primary key  is generated in sequence by means of a trigger.  This trigger, I have written and is successful.

I have another datablock in the same form named ?block2?.  The fields are

-     Emp_code, varchar2 List item, Emp_name, varchar2 Text item and ESI_number, number Text item.

Now, I want to implement the following functionality:

Whenever I add new items to Emp_code (Text item) in block1, it should be added to the list for Emp_code (list item) in block2, so that user will pick it whenever he needs to fill up Emp_code in block2.

Can any one give me the trigger coding for this?

I think that you can use a When-New-Block-Instance trigger of block2 and use POPULATE_LIST built-in there. If you dont't want to populate list item each time then you can add a non-displayed item to the block1 and in a Post-Insert trigger of block1 set it and test its value before populating the list item. After populating the list item you can reset it.

I am quite convenient with the positioning of the trigger coding.  that is not a problem?

But, I need to know what should be the exact trigger coding?  because, I tried to populate a record group and transfer it to the list item,  but it does not work out.  Try and see!

I think that it would be better if you post here your code for populating a record group and transfering it to the list item.
