Hi,
i have several applications running, and since they are running in the background, i cant really close them. So i went to my windows task manager, right-clicked, selected "end process", and i get a "unable to terminate process- the operation could not be compleated - access is denied."
restarting the computer isnt an option. so how do i get rid of these processes?

You can use pskill from sysinternals to kill processes that say "Access is denied".  You can download pstools for free.  pskill also works over a unc path (\\computer)

Another great program that will help you remove unwanted process is Remote Taks Manager from SmartLine

Usualy there is a good reason to keep people from shutting a taksk off, try searching for the exe name in google before you shut it off if you don't know what it is.

There are a few procsses that you should NOT shut off, doing so will cause your machine to stop responding.:

system idle process
System
services.exe
