I am creating a website now...i have this page that allows users to view a list of jobs available for them to apply...but besides showing all records, i want to display the record according to its category...i.e that will be a drop down menu stating the categories available, and when the user clicks on one category, then it will display the jobs belonging to that particular category....how do i accomplish this...pls enlighten..thanks...

Just a quick pointer. There are 2 ways to do this.
1)If all your records are on the client side already and they are in xml format as a data island, then you can equate them as a recordset. When the user click on the category, you can use Javascript to process the records and display them in a table structure. You would need to control the size of the table display with another button and further Javascript coding
All this is happening on the client, without any further pages being download. Obviously, this is only practicable if the number of records are small
2)When the user click on the category, and fill up other criteria and activate a search button it calls up an .asp page which is on the server, which then build the new page. This is how it is done with the Job seekers site with the searches
