Hello all, new to this site and i hope to get some helpful advice about my problem...  Well im on my second DFI AK75 mobo both boards are brand new and im encountering the same problem with both of them.. I set up the pc but am getting no display, i have a geforce 3 in the agp slot and when i power up the fan does not spin, this led me to believe that the v.card was bad so i hooked it up to my little celeron pc.  The card works just fine so i tried my other components on the other pc, such as the memory sticks the power supply and this all works just fine.. I have not had a chance to get the cpu checked out yet(which i will do in the morning).  Well i stripped the computer down to the bare minimum such as motherboard, cpu, and power supply and yet i still do not get any form of error beeps.  What could the problem be????  Could it be possible that both of these brand new motherboards are bad or could it be the CPU?????   Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks in advance

Hmm.. as you have tried quite a lot of testing, I think the problem lies with your mobo or CPU unit if you confirm there is nothing wrong with your RAM and power supply. Btw, you can try to slot in your RAM at other slot as your RAM slot on mobo maybe faulty.

if it isnt the cpu then it could well be the power supply. i seems the most likely considering you are not getting any bleeps from the mobo. i recomend changing the psu first and go from there

doesn't this board have on board video? Have the PS tested, replace if necessary. Then start again with bare minimum add-ons (no video). If this works for you you can disable the on board video and add your AGP card. Your problem could also be your RAM. Just like the PS, just because it works on another pc, doesn't mean that it will work with the other. Read the manual carefully to ensure that you do in fact have the proper RAM. Another resource is www.crucial.com. They are have an excellent tool for finding out what type of RAM you need...

Verify that your video card is the right voltage for that agp slot.

No Video/Monitor usually causes Beeps.

No CPU would make no beeps, no video
Bad/Unsuitable RAM would make no beeps, no video
and having you Hard disk cables attached the wrong way around would cause no beep, and no video..

Those are the only three that come to mind..

The only certain way to resolve a problem is to be systemmatic.  If you can't be that way then nothing will get solved.  Try each and everything we suggest, don't ignore our suggestions just because someone says no.

Hi Jimbo, I do agree with you on "don't ignore our suggestions just because someone says no" :)
To troubleshoot pc, one must try everything in order to fix it. Not every solution for one person may solve another person problem.

Thanks alot to you all for replying to my problem... Well fellas I took the processor to a local hole in the wall PC shop and had them test the processor, the thing is fried like I had thought it might be..  I figured that if all my other components were fine then it might be that.... I've just ordered a replacement an 1800+ xp full retail for $67.  Hopefully this fixes my problem.. Well Thanks again to all that posted their suggestions and I will definetly keep all these comments in mind for future trouble shooting...........
