This system run with Novell Client 4.83, ZENworks Appn launcher Ver 3.0, Win2K Service Pack 2 and I.E 6. The applications are MSoffice2K, Lotus SmartSuit, LotusNotes and several small programs. Appreciated for the solution ASAP.

i suggest using a hard drive checking utility to check your disk. it may be damaged. you can probably download one from the manufacturer's website, if the drive didn't come with software (as some do).

you should also run a check of your ram. this may also be causing the problem.

here's a free utility to check the memory:

It's possible this could be Novell Client.  Not that I am blaming Novell.  Novell was never given enough information by Micro$oft to properly design a client.  Is this happening on all clients or just a select client?  Try removing the client from Add/Remove programs, then delete the client directory, then restart the workstation.  Can you run Disk Cleanup now?   If so, do a fresh install of the client.  Make sure you have latest 4.83 Sp 1

Well.. I  don't think Novell Client is the root cause since this model and user type profile is same with other user. Already assign the Sp1 to Novell Client. TQ

vandetta... I worked in an envrionment with 3500 users and 5 different models of workstations all with the same image on them, it was surprising to see what could happen with the Novell Client, that is why everyone is so excited about ZenWorks 4 (no Client needed.)

-Novell Client removed even no other network service installed and the symptom still there . There's no problem to other system with same model.
Check on hard ware - Memory swap OK, Thorough Scandisk the hard drive no error. Still incomplete disk cleanup with auto shut off after 4 minutes.Check on BIOS setting also nothing happened. Check on power management and try to recover and replace the respective execute file (also path on reg) still not resolved.

At this point I would rebuild this computer, re-image it.  If the problem persists you may still have an issue with the harddisk controller or the motherboard.   If it is a software problem it is not a ghost worth searching for given the time you already have into this.
