People not getting added to group

I am not able to add people into the group named 'Manager'.

Already the group 'Manager' has around 150 people added to it.
I was able to add people to my group, but from yesterday i am not able to add.
After clicking the 'Sort List' button also its not seen in the list

Note: I am able to pick the people from the address book it from the address book.

My Setting:
Group Name: Manager
Group Type: Multi Purpose
Descp: All Managers
Members:
All people from address book are picked.

Any idea where i am wrong?

Members field in Group doc is just a text field which can hold about 15K of data, which is the limit for the text field. So you have to break up your members into smaller groups and add them to this Manager group. Breakup groups by their first alphabet of name (Say GroupS contains names starting with S), this will facilitate easy lookup for a person.

I thought that it had some limitation? But really could not figure it out, was wondering like it does not allow more than 150 members or so.....

Then i'll be ending up in creating lot of groups(If i go by Name).Is it ok?

Is'nt there any other alternative.

It is a good method to follow for large organizations. WE have 5000 Users that we support , and we did same thing that I mentioned in my proposal. Now it is error free and easy to maintain.
