My boss is inclining towards building a rich user interface design client server application with a db backend.

He is under the impression that Java cannot give him this because java has a high development cycle, is not rich in development and not very fast on the desktop. I would like to show him some examples of java applications that are all that. Are there any examples that you people are working on or know of such on the internet that would help me change his mind. He wants to go Delphi.

As far the IDE is concerned, my last question gave me the conclusion that JBuilder EP is the answer.

I would appreciate comments and ideas and suggestion.

Thanks for helping the java community.
