Quick and learning bind don't normally belong in the same sentence.  A good place to begin though is get a copy of redhat linux (http://www.redhat.com -- it's on their FTP site) and a machine you can spare time with, and start tinkering.  There are all sorts of documentation sites available for setting things up, a good one to look at is The Linux Documentation Project (www.tldp.org) with howtos at: (http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/mini/other-formats/html_single/)  Most of those HOWTOs are easy enough to follow.  I think redhat 8 also has some easy configuration tools for DNS.

Good Luck
