I've two version of Lotus Notes in my PC which are R4.6 and R5. The databases are storing at server. I've encountered a problem where the code is not synchronize after I changed it in version R4.6. What I mean is after I modified the code in R4.6 but the modification doesn't show up in R5. I need to copy the whole code from R4.6 and paste it into R5. I wish to know why this problem occured since the code being modified is from the same database in server. Please let me know the reason. TQ.

Both clients are opening the very same database / replica on the very same server?
I only recognise this when I was either working on the wrong server (not replicated yet) or in the wrong database (design not updated yet).

It's not a replica database. I updated the design in R4.6 and when I opened the database in R5, found the design isn't being updated. I wish to know why.

Still... are you ABSOLUTELY sure that you're not opening a different db (different server -perhaps local- or different path -or filename-)?
Normal approach: open the database. When in a view or a document, check the property box (select "database" for path).
The back-door approach: create a new document in one client and see if it exists using the other. If it doesn't you're most certainly using different databases!
