Outlook 2002 save as issue

I have a user who has an issue with Outlook 2002 running on an XP Pro platform. The problem is that whenever she right clicks on a file attachment in Outlook and does a "save as", on attempting to write the new file name, the machine hangs. After 3 minutes or so it resumes normal operation. The storage location is a GP redirected My Documents folder. When saving to the local disk everything is ok. Also when saving the file to the My Documents folder without changing the file name this also works ok.

This user has a roaming profile. I have logged onto another pc and the same problem arises. This pretty much rules out machine rebuild and dodge network port. I have configured the machine to store the files locally for the time being, but I need a resolution asap. Can anyone please help???

I have looked at http://support.microsoft.com but to no avail. However, I very rarely have success here…

Not sure if this would help but I've seen corrupted profiles do some whacky things with Outlook.  Try creating a new profile and set up Outlook for that account.  Then try it.

It's worth a shot...
